The short version

Paralux does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any of your personal data. When you sign in with Google or Apple, we never see or store your credentials. Your photos stay on your device or in your own cloud accounts — not ours.

1. Who We Are

This Privacy Policy applies to Paralux (the "Application"), a visionOS application for Apple Vision Pro created by Jesse Barrios III (the "Service Provider"). For privacy questions, contact us at jesse@jessebarrios.com.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

Paralux is designed to operate without collecting personal information. Specifically:

  • We do not require account registration to use the Application.
  • We do not collect your name, email address, or any personally identifiable information.
  • We do not track your location.
  • We do not collect information about which photos you view.
  • We do not store your photos or transmit them to any server we operate.
  • We do not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.

3. Google Sign-In (OAuth 2.0)

Paralux offers optional integration with Google Drive to browse photos stored there. When you choose to connect Google Drive:

  • Authentication is handled entirely by Google's secure OAuth 2.0 system via an in-app browser window (ASWebAuthenticationSession). We never see or handle your Google password.
  • Paralux requests read-only access to your Google Drive files solely to display your photos within the app. We do not request access to Gmail, Contacts, Calendar, or any other Google service.
  • We do not store your Google credentials, OAuth tokens, or any Google account information on our servers. Access tokens are stored only in your device's secure local storage and are never transmitted to us.
  • We do not share your Google account data or Drive files with any third party.
  • Your Google Drive photos are fetched directly from Google's servers to your Vision Pro — never routed through or stored on our infrastructure.
  • You may revoke Paralux's access to Google Drive at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Paralux's use of Google APIs complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

4. Apple Sign-In & Apple Photos

Paralux integrates with Apple Photos and iCloud Drive using Apple's native frameworks (PhotosUI, PhotosPicker). When you grant access:

  • Access is governed entirely by visionOS's standard permission system. You may revoke it at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos.
  • We do not collect, store, transmit, or process your Apple ID credentials, iCloud account information, or any Apple account data.
  • Photos are accessed locally on-device or via Apple's iCloud infrastructure directly. We do not receive, cache, or retain any copy of your photos on our servers.
  • We never share your Apple account information or photo data with any third party.

5. Data We May Receive Indirectly

When you contact us for support via email, we receive your email address and message contents. This information is used solely to respond to your request and is never shared with third parties.

6. Children's Privacy

The Application is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us at jesse@jessebarrios.com and we will delete it promptly.

7. Third-Party Services

Paralux does not embed third-party advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs. The Application connects to these services only to fulfill its core function:

  • Google Drive API — read-only file access when you choose to connect. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Apple iCloud / PhotosUI — access to your Photos library when you grant permission. Governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

8. Data Security

Because Paralux does not collect or store personal data on our servers, the risk of unauthorized access through our infrastructure is essentially zero. All sensitive operations occur on your device or through the respective provider's secure infrastructure.

9. Your Rights

You can stop using the Application and uninstall it at any time. Because we do not collect personal data, there is no stored data to delete. To revoke cloud access, use your device Settings or the respective provider's account management tools.

10. Cookies

The Paralux app does not use cookies. The Paralux website (paraluxapp.com) may use standard browser cookies to improve performance. You may disable cookies in your browser settings.

11. Links to Third-Party Sites

The Application may contain links to external websites such as the App Store or Google account settings. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Application after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Agreement to these terms

By downloading or using Paralux, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Application. These terms apply to the app and to paraluxapp.com.

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legally binding agreement between you ("you" or "User") and Jesse Barrios III ("Developer," "we," "us") governing your use of the Paralux application for Apple Vision Pro ("Application") and the website paraluxapp.com. By downloading or using the Application, you agree to these Terms and our .

2. The Application

Paralux is a photo and media viewer for Apple Vision Pro. It lets you browse, view, and manage photos from your local device, Apple Photos library, iCloud Drive, and Google Drive in an immersive spatial environment. The Application is a paid, one-time purchase available exclusively through the Apple App Store. There are no accounts, subscriptions, or recurring charges.

3. License to Use

We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to download and use Paralux on any Apple Vision Pro device you own or control, strictly for your personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms and the Apple Media Services Terms.

You may not:

  • Copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile, or create derivative works from the Application.
  • Sell, sublicense, rent, or transfer the Application or your right to use it to any other person.
  • Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices within the Application.
  • Use automated tools to interact with the Application or its connected services in any unauthorized way.

4. Purchases & Payments

Paralux is available for a one-time purchase of $4.99, processed exclusively by Apple through the App Store. We do not process payments directly and do not have access to your payment information. All refund requests are handled by Apple in accordance with their refund policy. The one-time purchase grants you access to the current version of the Application and all future updates released while the app remains available on the App Store.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Paralux only for lawful purposes. You must not use the Application to view, process, or distribute:

  • Content that infringes any third party's intellectual property rights, including photos or images you do not have the right to use.
  • Any illegal content, including content that depicts the exploitation of minors.
  • Content that violates any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation.

You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the necessary rights to use any photos you access through the Application, including images stored in your Google Drive or Apple Photos library.

6. Third-Party Services

Paralux optionally integrates with Google Drive and Apple Photos / iCloud. These are independent services not operated by us. Your use of them is subject to their own terms:

We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of these third-party services. Connecting to them is entirely optional.

7. Your Content & Data

You retain full ownership of all photos and media you view or process using the Application. We do not claim any ownership over your content. Because Paralux operates entirely on-device and does not transmit your photos to our servers, we have no access to your content and bear no responsibility for it.

You represent that you own or have the right to use any content you access through Paralux, and that doing so does not violate any law or third-party rights.

8. Intellectual Property

The Application — including its code, design, user interface, graphics, and the Paralux name and logo — is owned by Jesse Barrios III and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not transfer any ownership rights to you. Your use of the Application grants you only the limited license described in Section 3.

9. Updates to the Application

We may release updates, improvements, or bug fixes from time to time. The Application may update automatically on your device. We are not obligated to maintain any specific feature, and we reserve the right to modify or remove features at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to maintain compatibility with current versions of visionOS.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Application is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties — express or implied — including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Application will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of bugs.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Jesse Barrios III shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Application — including any loss of photos or data. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Application ($4.99).

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes that cannot be resolved informally will be submitted to binding arbitration under the American Arbitration Association rules. If you are located in the EU, applicable consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction may also apply.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the Application after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
